(LTC-007) NRA Home Firearms Safety

Classes are ONLY $79 per person.

Length of class is 4 hours. We provide coffee and refreshments.

This course is designed to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms in the home. The are no prerequisites for taking this course and the material can be understood by mature people of all ages.

The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is the basic course we recommend to anyone unfamiliar with guns or who needs a to learn firearm terminology and safe handling. It is valid for LTC and FID.

In this four hour course students will get the NRA's Home Firearm Safety handbook, pamphlets on safety and terminology and lessons on the rules of safe gun handling, identifying and unloading various firearms, ammunition, cleaning, and storage. Students will also get hands-on experience with the most common types of handguns, rifles and shotguns. Massachusetts Laws Pertaining to Permit Application, Firearms Storage and Transportation

NRA Home Firearms Safety and NRA Basic Pistol courses fulfill the Massachusetts State Police LTC Basic Firearms Safety Course Requirement Certification LTC-007 or LTC-002 for FID Cards and LTC's. You will receive the Massachusetts State Police Certificate needed for the application process and an NRA Certificate, both suitable for framing.

NRA Basic Pistol

Classes are ONLY $179 per person.

If you are interested in a private class, the cost is $349.

Length of class is 8 hours. This includes classroom, range time and lunch is provided.

This course is designed for individuals who want to apply for an FID or License to Carry permit. Topics include:

Pistol Parts and Operation
Ammunition
Using a Pistol Safely
Operating a Pistol
Cleaning, Storing, and Transporting a Pistol
Shooting Fundamentals
The Bench Rest Shooting Position
Other Shooting Positions
Improving and Maintaining Shooting Skills
Massachusetts Laws Pertaining to Permit Application, Firearms Storage and Transportation

Proper handling of guns and actual firing of guns at a range is part of this course.

Private Instruction

Classes are ONLY $85 per hour.

$70 for each additional hour.

This course is designed to fit your personal firearms needs. Sometimes its just an hour to go over how to care for your new gun, or to find out how to get those groups a little smaller. This class can also be used to test out a firearm prior to purchase, or for more advanced lessons. This class includes the use of all firearms as well as all .22 caliber ammunition. Center fire ammo, if needed, is charged at $22.50 per 50 rounds for most common calibers.

Basics of IDPA

Course Fee $79

The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide. This class will be held at the Worcester Pistol & Rifle Club. Participants will be provided with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge used in the sport of International Defensive Pistol competition.

Participants are required to have the following:

Centerfire revolver or semi-automatic handgun, 9mm or larger
A plastic or leather strong side belt mounted holster. Avoid retention straps and snaps
Belt mounted double magazine or speedloader holder
3 magazines or speedloaders
200 rounds of ammunition
A vest or shirt that covers the holstered gun
Eye & ear protection
Baseball cap

Intro to Concealed Carry (CCW)

Course Fee $59

This 3 hour class is for individuals who currently or intend to carrying a firearm for personal protection.

Topics include:

Use of deadly force and aftermath
Selection a Firearm and Ammunition
Methods of carry option for different environments
The limitations and advantages to pepper spray, and Flashlights and other less than lethal force tools
"Holster party" Try several holsters and options
Types of reloads
Drawing under stress / Practical exercises

Certificate Program - Passing Students will receive a certificate suitable for framing.

5 Hours ( 2-Class 3-Range ) 350+ Rounds

Are you currently carrying a firearm for personal protection? Do you intend to? Could you shoot while backing up? This class is designed to teach practical and Tactical shooting fundamentals to citizens who take there safety seriously. Jam packed with dynamic drills and techniques. Shoot 350+ Rounds of ammunition and leave this class with the knowledge and attitude necessary carry a firearm.

9 Hours ( 2-Class 7-Range ) 550+ Rounds

This is an advanced class that fully includes CCW1 (Above) It is perfect for armed security firms as well as Auxiliary Police officers, private investigators, and armored car operators. This class is a true real world law enforcement based training. Students should use their issued duty gear and equipment and will be required to issue verbal commands and engage targets in scenario based drills.

Basic Rifle and Ballistics

This 2.5 hour (non firing) coarse is designed to teach the skills necessary to be successful in rifle shooting. This class covers: Shooting positions, Fundamentals, Practice techniques, Optics, sling usage, Basic Ballistics and Cartridge matching.

Advanced Rifle and Ballistics

Course Fee $59

This 2.5 hour (non firing) coarse is designed to teach Advanced skills to help make a good rifle shooter into a great one. Learn the tips and tricks necessary to compete in rifle competitions. Learn to read wind directions and speed. Learn what rifle customization you should choose for your needs. Work on natural point of aim and the truth about breath control.

Our Defensive Knife Training Course was developed with martial arts and law enforcement hands-on training which progresses from stances, grips and cutting drills. The techniques are all very simple, easy to learn and remember, with effective results by using the Spyderco Delica Wave blade configuration. The techniques taught in this course are intended to incapacitate the attacker instantly, allowing you the opportunity to escape. Since the techniques do not rely on physical strength it is a suitable class for people of all physical abilities.

The course contents include the following subjects: Mindset, Knife selection, Target areas, legal implications and Scenario training to defend against a variety of attacks. The course consists of approximately 60 minutes of lecture and discussion, about 60 minutes of drills and 60 minutes of legal implications and overview.

Personal Protection Specialist (EP I)

Course Fee $195

Certificate Program - Passing Students will receive a certificate suitable for framing.

This initial program (2 Days) introduces candidates to the fundamentals required to operate as a professional bodyguard. Your instructors will focus on the protective skills needed for entertainers, public personalities, and CEO's. Consider working in locations like; Arenas, Movie sets, Concerts, Airports, Restaurants, offices, places of worship and Private Functions.

Prerequisite: Students should have at least one of the following

LEO Credentials

Sponsorship from a reputable security firm.

Active or Former US Military

Certified Firearms Instructors
